Fan Pandering

So we're off to see Dave Matthews, and the rest of the band, too.

My understanding is that some of you out there just don't get the greatness of Dave (yes Co-worker, I speak of you), but that's okay. Dave's music isn't the best, I'm not his number one fan, but sometimes DMB gets me through the night, so what more could I ask for?

We (my sister and I) also owe a debt of gratitude to Dave. DMB's cover of "The Long Black Veil" inspired our book; Dave himself is the inspiration for the main character, Jamie Delacroix. It's pretty damn likely that the reality of Dave and the fantasy of our character have little in common... but I'll take inspiration where I find it.

So while all of you are sitting behind a desk tomorrow or nodding off in front of the TV come evening, I'll be screaming out my general joy for Dave's existence.
