Groovy Kind of Love

For years now, I’ve been trying to decide what I would like to come back as should this reincarnation thing actually become an issue. A cat might be nice; an awful lot of people like cats. Many people would make that choice, though, too, and in the interests of not overcrowding the market, I think I’ve found a better solution: I want to come back as a bonobo chimp.

According to a recent article from AP, bonobos are known for “greeting rival groups with genital handshakes and sensual body rubs”. Wouldn’t that be great at mixers? And the bonobo, also known as the “hippie chimp” quickly resolves spats, often by French kissing followed by a quick round of sex. Mmmm… now that sounds like the good life. Uh-huh.

Unfortunately, though, the bonobos are becoming endangered because of their tasty meat and the fact that female bonobos only have single births once every five years, so no multiples or Irish twins to help the species keep pace with poachers.
