Calvin Lewis and Eve Novotny — Jane’s mother — have been friends since they were children, but only recently admitted a passion for one another that supersedes all other ties, including Eve's marriage. When Jamie stumbles across their love affair, he inadvertently sets in motion a chain reaction that risks the destruction of Jane’s family — and Calvin’s life.
